How to handle differences in the length of your heating elements?

The process for production of heating elements causes significant differences in the length of the straight elements.
This is mainly due to variations in the compaction of the MgO while filling and to the rolling process, which determine different elongations from one element to the next.

Among electric heater manufacturers this is a common problem because they must guarantee a product with tight dimensional tolerances to the final customer.

Stretching machine

To handle differences in the length you can choose one of the following options:

  1. get annealed heating elements the same length by using a stretching machine
  2. get non-annealed heating elements the same length by using the equilong. This is done at the exit of the rolling mill by means of a reduction in the diameter of the heating element.
