Details

The automatic in-line finishing and straightness transfer is designed to operate directly downstream of the reducing mill, completing the final processing of cartridge heaters without interrupting the production flow.

Heating elements are automatically transferred from the conveyor into the machine, rotated into the correct working position, and conveyed through a series of sequential stations that perform the finishing and quality control operations.

The stations include:

  • Hot air blower unit: blows off residual water left from previous operations
  • Multi-pin cutting unit: crops the terminal pins to length; cartridge heaters carry their two or four pins on the same end, which this station cuts together
  • Linishing unit: polishes the outer surface of the tube at the worked end to prepare it for subsequent welding or brazing
  • Straightness measurement unit: measures the straightness of the element to verify it meets specification
  • Automatic unloading unit with scrap sorting: unloads finished elements and separates out rejects automatically
